Demco Factory

DEMCO BUILDING

This is the building that is on the corner of Great Buckingham and Cleveland.

in 1989

in the 30's

in the 50's

one of the machines (not sure if this is in the actual factory)

Its funny for me to think of Redfern as such an industrial area - through while looking up photos for the above I came across Ernest Julius Wunderlich who operated a pressed ceiling factory down on cope street and it looks like on baptist street too  - but they also were involved in the production of other products:
1943 aircraft asembly
Photograph of Wunderlich steel panelling no. 1681 installed on the awning of the Bourke Hotel in Sydney 1933

Photograph of a display of art metal and architectural terracotta in Wunderlich Limiteds Sydney showroom 1910

Model Wunderlich home that was on display in the 1940's at Broadway

toster production 1940s

wunderlich 1911 picnic comitte (I love this one!!)
